11/10/10

Hmm, I'm not sure where we go next on this little voyage of ours.  90% of the days at work now are uneventful.  I don't travel the country any longer and I've gotten the hang of the milk delivery thing for the most part, so there aren't a lot of interesting tales on that front.  I've learned to accept my boring social life for the most part, so there aren't a lot of interesting tales on that front.  I earn a comfortable enough living for the most part, so there aren't a lot of interesting tales on that front.  My thoughts and opinions on the world have been fleshed out for the most part, so there aren't a lot of interesting tales on that front.

Perhaps this is the inevitable descent that this sort of blog was bound to make sooner or later.  In any case, we've made the descent.  There appears to be nothing left to say.  And this, my friends, is when it's time to pack it in.  Thanks for the chats over the last few years.  It's been fun.

  2. Joe,

I started to read your blog to learn about OTR trucking and although I found your accounts of your days on the road educational and entertaining, what I learned to really appreciate was your views on life.

Thank you for taking the time to grind out this blog. I know with your busy social life including all those young good looking wealthy babes knocking at your door day and night, that putting your thoughts down took time away from what you really wanted to be hitting!

You have my email and I would hope that you keep in touch. If I am ever find myself in your area, I will let you know and I hoope you realize that you are welcome here in Denver. A true "Get out of Jail" card with your name on it.**

    Take Care, John

  5. Hope to keep reading some blurbs from Vito on the other friendly site, but alas, that site seems to be a Fibber McGee's closet of old conversations as well.

You have a knack for writing, Joe.

    i understand your decision.

I believe Bob Hope said it best. "Thanks for the memories....". I have really enjoyed reading your blog and laughing with you as you moved through life these past years. Thanks for the help in the past and the pizza and beer offer is still on the table if you get down "devils driveway" to San Antonio. Take care Joe. Thanks.

  8. I appreciate the kind words from everyone. For real.

I have no desire to write a daily narrative of my rather boring life. Plenty of people write that kind of blog and it doesn't exactly make for quality reading. I sure as hell wouldn't read it. Let's just put it that way.

As long as there was a way to find a story to tell, somewhere amidst the boredom, I was content to keep telling the story. Alas, the story (much like most of those message board conversations that Calmar mentions, incidentally) has grown repetitive.

I'm archiving this comment thread though, just in case. Hopefully I won't require legal protection in Denver in order to procure this big breasted blonde that Anonymous has mentioned, but you never know.

Beer and pizza, on the other hand, that's legal everywhere. Even if one does have to endure Satan's Driveway to get it.

(This comment probably should conclude with a wisecrack about Canadians, but our friend out west seems like a decent fella, albeit a misguided one when it comes to sports. I'll just leave well enough alone.)

(No wisecrack for the Aussies either, since everything I know about them came from Crocodile Dundee and that guy seems pretty cool.)

  9. Joe,

I have enjoyed reading your blog from the beginning. The wit and wisecracks about life were just as interesting as the OTR adventures. I will really miss making your blog part of my daily read.
