There's no way they actually televised this, right?

For fuck's sake, I enjoy lowbrow humor and moronic puns more than the next guy, but come on. You didn't think this sounded silly before you put it on television? Then you're a fucking idiot and, quite frankly, I won't feel bad if you get shitcanned and your family can't make ends meet. Sometimes that's just what needs to happen.

  1. I too must admit that I giggled at this "news" article. How could anyone not realize that they had been pranked. Has no one else heard of "Jack Me Hoff" or "Prince Albert in a can"?? The good news is that the Koreans retaliated -- http://slothed.com/2013/07/23/korean-news-station-pokes-fun-at-ktvu-with-fake-american-pilot-names-after-southwest-airlines-landing-gear-failure/

  2. Given that the Korean version was intentional... that's way better.

I'm excusing the fact that their puns were weak and unfunny, incidentally, and focusing on the fact that they at least knew what they were publishing. They had a leg up on us, even if that leg was a short and unimpressive one.

  3. They checked with the NTSB. The person who answered the phone (a college summer intern) thought HE was being pranked. So he gave a prank answer back to an obvious prank phone call. He got fired because he was just supposed to answer the phone and take messages.
