If prayer is your sort of thing...

Keep my old colleagues at Con-way Truckload in mind this evening.  I just got a message from a friend in Oklahoma.  A tornado apparently did quite a number on Joplin, Missouri tonight.  After checking out a few news reports, I must say that the pictures look like something from a bad movie.  My buddy in Oklahoma says that the CTL (old CFI) main terminal got "throttled completely."

A lot of truck drivers spend their time sleeping in the parking lot at that terminal.  Here's hoping that they got ample warning to take cover.

As many of you have probably seen on the news today some horrific tornados tore through Joplin, Mo last night. For those who have been following my blog, you know that is our main hub and basically second home. We got the news around 19:15 last night. We were actually on our way there, but thankfully still in Texas. We are headed for Columbia, Mo and whenever you pass up the terminal they require you to stop. Not last night or this morning through, they sent over messages saying to bypass the terminal and to only call in an emergency. No one at our terminal was injured and so far no injuries have been reported for those who were home, but work there. However, on the morning message they did say several employees have lost their homes.
